:confused: I just bought a used Dell Inspiron 2500 Laptop with Windows ME installed. I hate ME with a passion and want to remove ita nd install XP.

 

Can anyone give me directions specific to my situation?

 

I assume I must reformat the hard drive but I don't know where to start.

Make sure the laptop is set to boot from cdrom first. Change that in bios > boot options. Pop in the XP cd and boot the laptop. You'll have the option to delete the current ME partition and any other partitions thyat are there. Remove them and then create your new NTFS partition. It will format and install will continue.

Thanks.... Thats sounds pretty easy. Changing boot options is when booting up you hit on of the f# keys and then it brings up options, correct?
