djdesai_98 Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 Hello, I put in a new MB and a SATA hard drive. I installed my old hard drive as drive E. Unfortunately, my windows Xp is on the old hard drive and is registered. How can I use the same windows Xp on my new SATA drive without paying Bill Gates all over again? Thanks in advance Regards, JIM Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted February 9, 2005 FPCH Admin Posted February 9, 2005 Create an image of the old hd using Ghost or some other imaging software. Then restore the image to the new drive. Replacing a hard drive shouldn't trigger activation. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
