donojack Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Im totally lost and need help-have an older p3 700 mhz w/integrated vid card & windows xp pro sp1. just got a mad dog geforce 5200fx pci card and drivers wont uninstall after repeatedly going through eeverything the instructions tell me to do.. Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted January 28, 2005 FPCH Admin Posted January 28, 2005 Try this. Go to device manager, select the card, right click, select properties, select driver and hit rollback driver. If that doesn't work then unistall the whole device and reboot. This will also uninstall the driver. If you are trying to use the new card and not the onboard then you'll have to go into bios and disable the onboard video. You box will then use the new card. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
donojack Posted January 28, 2005 Author Posted January 28, 2005 thanx for the advice-Im trying to get rid of the drivers for my old integrated video card so i can use the new one, forgive me for sounding like a complete moron, will it still work the way you suggested?? Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted January 28, 2005 FPCH Admin Posted January 28, 2005 Ahh. Disregard what I posted above. What you have to do is disable the onboard video i bios. Restart your computer. As soon as the bios start to load, you'll see some text scroll or a graphic image, hit the delete key. Look for integrated periphrials and disable onboard vid. Save the changes and after reboot you'll be using the graphics card. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
