Ink Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Hey everyone. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here it is. I've been trying to install some stuff from a cd-rom on to my computer (which is running windows xp professional ed) and i keep getting the message "Data error: cyclic redundancy check". When this happens, the install stops abruptly. I don't think the cd is at fault because it installed when i tested it on another computer. Ideas, guys? Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted December 2, 2004 FPCH Admin Posted December 2, 2004 Could be a bad cd drive. I've had the same error beofre a cd drive went completely bad. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
Ink Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 Oh no. That was the last thing I was hoping to hear. Strangely enough, I managed to install a different piece of software from that very same cd-rom drive. And some cds that I use to back up data seem to read fine. Quote
