hello folks, sorry its been such a long time visiting.

I am doing a project for uni which will mean making a router do some unusual things like talking to other types of network. I need to find a wireless router (speed is irrelevant) which can be reprogrammed. It will need a nice big buffer because i intend to change the way the routing tables are structured and i intend to have a large store and forward memory.

My question is, has anyone here ever tried such a thing and if so would they recommend a company which makes routers which may be good for reprogramming?

I would prefer to buy a router and change it but if no-one has any ideas, i will try asking belkin or cisco (probably without a reply) and then decide to use a pc as a router. but like i said i think for this project, having something that isnt as expensive as a computer and not too much more expensive than a normal wireless router, would be ideal.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Chris.

PS. I have a belkin 802.11b Access point. Will this be possible. I know its a really odd subject but if anyone at all has any comments...

You are a star! That is exactly the kind of thing i was looking for!

I had a feeling you might know something about that.

Cheers again.

Chris.
