I have XP home version. After my husband tried to get rid of a trojan virus I am unable to pull up any websites. I get a Cannot locate page and DSN error. I am also getting a C:Windows/system32/services/services.exe message saying it isn't in the registry. Any ideas on what I should do? Thank you!
It sounds like there's either an issue with your hosts list, or your network configuration, or both. Hosts is the set of instructions telling the computer where to look for various addresses, and the network settings include more places to look, primarily servers at your service provider. Depending how you connect to the internet, it might be a good idea to go through whatever process your service provider instructs for connecting to their service. Helpful things to know would be: network setup, service provider, and browser.
