GavinO Posted June 15, 2004 Posted June 15, 2004 In the common file dialog under newer versions of Windows, there is a set of buttons down the left hand side set by default to things like My Documents, My Computer, etc. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to change these to link to other locations. For example, I have folders that would be a better place to quick link to than the Favorites folder. FPCH Admin AWS Posted June 16, 2004 FPCH Admin Posted June 16, 2004 You can change them by editing the registry. I'm not sure where it is, but, it can be done. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
GavinO Posted June 16, 2004 Author Posted June 16, 2004 its good to have someone say its possible ... now to start registry hacking until it works :) Update: This KB article tells us how to remove and add stuff to the dialog specific to Office: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=282087 . I'm thinking that there will be something similar in there for the generic box.
