I am trying to access the hosted Chat, from the link at Xtreme VB Talk, on my WinXP Pro machine. The window opens, but the Applet doesn't init, and the status bar on the bottom let of IE6 doesn't say "Starting applet..." or whatever. It works fine for me on my Win2K laptop using IE5.x. Just not on the XP machine. Both are using Kerio Personal Firewall and are on the same network. Any ideas?

It must be your browser security settings. Put extremetechsupport.com in your trusted host file and it should work.

Where would I find my trusted host file and what would the file name be? Is it within IE or do I have to manually open the file and place in the domain?

I believe that this would be set in IE under Tools and Internet Options.

On the Security Tab, select Trusted Sites and then click on the Sites button.

Add the link (you may need to uncheck the "Require Server Verification" box.

Bob,

Would the site be extremetechsupport.com or would it be extremetechsupport.org?

I'd add them both.

I added both sites to the Trusted zones, and it still doesn't work. Here is a screenshot of nothing happening :( The page loads instantly and doesn't even try to init the applet. :(

Heck, the "Manage Attachments" button isn't even working for me to attach a screenshot!

The option for Scripting for Java Applets in my security settings is set to Enable.

EDIT: Well, I downloaded mIRC and managed to get to the chat that way, but I would still like to know what is blocking me. :(
