saman Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 Hi, I have a small problem with my rather new computer. First of all I wish to say that I have tested different graphiccard, I have tested 1 memory and both, I have tested with fewer harddrives (and no cdrom) and so on. Okay now to the problem, when I shut down my computer for over the night, then try to turn it on the next day I have to wait like 15min-2hours before the startup process starts. I hear the processorfan and chassifan turn on, but the keyboard, screen and so on doesnt. After a while it all starts and works fine. A simple reboot doesnt give me this problem - only when turning off my computer and then trying to turn it on again. What can be the problem? Thanks for a fast responds! Btw my computer is a 3.0ghz P4 with a Asus P4C800 Deluxe, 2x512mb TwinMos 512mb pc3200, 380W. Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted April 26, 2004 FPCH Admin Posted April 26, 2004 You might want to try and reset the bios setting to default. I have this happen intermitently with one of my computers. For some reason during post my cdrw isn't detected. The computer will take 15 minutes or longer to start. I had to flash to an older bios for the board to fix it. By setting bios to default value the bios will give you an f2 stop error and let you know what is causing the problem. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
GavinO Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 I had a machine that wouldn't boot for 20min-1hr after being shut all the way down; the problem went away after a motherboard replacement, but i was never able to figure out precisely what was wrong with the mobo (the part worked fine elsewhere).
