Ronq Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 Hello, I have 512 mb of ram on my computer, but after my bios reset and system fresh reinstall, I get only 256 mb detected, I changed the places of the ram and I still get 256 mb, I think the ram is good, but maybe the bios is not detecting it. Is there something that I can configure, or something? I have a MSI KT3 ULTRA 2 motherboard and an ATHLON XP 1800+, two 256 mb ddr 333 (or 133 i don't remember) different brands, a PNY gforce 440 MX video card, and a western digital 40 gb hard disk. Windows XP SP1 on my system. Thank you very much. Ronq. Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted April 10, 2004 FPCH Admin Posted April 10, 2004 Put one stick in at a time and see if it boots. It could be one of the sticks in not compatible with the board. If it boots with each stick then head into bios and set the latency settings to spec according to the ram specs which are on the sticker. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest

It was that, i thought that swap the sticks was enought to see if one was broken, but it wasn't, i did what you said and one IS broken, is a "spectek" it was my power supply it broke my mother and memory. Bye, Thanks. Quote
