I installed an Iomega 250 Zip internal driver in computer having Win98se as OS. I then upgraded to XP. Zip still worked fine. Then I had to reformat due to a stupid error on my part doing a clean install. I was glad that happened because things ran even better...except for the Zip drive.

Control panel recognizes the hardware but the yellow question mark indicated the software couldn't be found. XP couldn't locate it, the driver disk wasn't recognized, the Iomega site's driver selections weren't recognized, the Iomega help desk didn't come up with any solutions, nothing!!

I like using the Zip driver and I use it for various backup such as Act2000 so I don't want to do without it. Any suggestions as to why the driver won't load? Thanks in advance.

Have you tried the downloads on this page: http://www.iomega.com/datahandler/servlet/dataprocess/driverlist?database=steerdown ? Usually manufacturer drivers can be installed without using the Add Hardware dialog (which is sometimes better for hardware with a release date much before or after your Windows release).

Yes, as I mentioned in my question, I went to the Iomega web page...still didn't work.
