jay1b Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 Hi I am looking at buying a new hard-drive for an old machine, but would want to move it to a brand new machine in about a year or so. I was thinking about buying a UDMA-100 drive, i assume this would work with an older computer that currently has an old hard-drive from about '97? I know it wouldnt run at UDMA-100, but doesnt it run at the max speed the motherboard would support (in this case probably UDMA-33). Can i at a later stage put this in a system with a new SATA drive? Or do i need to have the same type of drive in the entire system? Thanks. Quote
