robot313 Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Hi, I've got a machine with Windows 98 on it, and a SoundBlaster Ensoniq soundcard, but the driver says it can't load the MIDI waveset. I've tried reinstalling them. And, these are the newest drivers I could get for this card for Win98 from Creative. Anything else I can do or is this something wrong with the card itself? Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted February 6, 2004 FPCH Admin Posted February 6, 2004 I think its more of a problem with win98. The Ensonig sound card could be bad also, but, I remember seeing something about that card not being compatible with win98. Something to do with the codecs the card uses. robot313 Posted February 6, 2004 Author Posted February 6, 2004 Hmm, that's interesting, because it's worked before, but I think ever since I formatted it last, and reinstalled windows, it's been throwing that error :-\ Quote
mkeent Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 robot313, I've got the same problem, just found this thread via google. Did you solve the problem ? Regards, mkeent Quote
GavinO Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 If robot didn't find an answer, this may be a driver that works: http://www.soundcard-drivers.com/drivers/55/55033.htm And this covers fixing the waveset issue directly by installing a new waveset (apparently the stock driver lacks it?): http://www.free-music-now.com/free_midi_file/midi_file_download/midi_file_download_msg40399/midi_file_download_msg40399.shtml Quote -The Gavster Three students died that year at the academy; one was executed, one was killed in a training accident, and one died of natural causes, for a knife to back will naturally kill anyone. -RA Salvatore Like to IRC?
