The new XP SP2 Beta is now out. Apparently, its more like an OS refresh than a service pack. Only open to MSDN testers though :(

One thing it does is lockdown your net connection. It turns the firewall on. It also fixes the problems with DCOM once and for all.

I've had it installed since last night on my devel box. No problems so far.

Sounds good. Let us know if anything bad happens ;)

For me, Im still running Windows 2000 Proffesional. Quite possible the best OS ever. :)

Speaking of the XP firewall, is it now actually configurable, or does it still block everything but web browsing and email? (I've never been able to game online with the thing on).

You can still turn off the MS Firewall or course ... right? You mean it just defaults to on?
