Guest ComputerConsumer Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Last night my mother started her laptop, and got a screen that startup repair was running. I helped her out by clicking on the recommended suggestion to restore computer to a prior point, and when restarted a black screen appeared with only a recycle bin icon. Curiously, the start menu identified as a recently used program the Bluetooth Suite although my mom does not use any Bluetooth devices, and the list of all programs did not contain some programs that otherwise should have been associated with my mom's laptop. It was as if I were looking at someone else's screen. I restarted the laptop again, and this time her screen appeared with her associated programs. Do you think that the problem my mom experienced last night -- including the black screen which showed Bluetooth Suite was a recently used program under the start menu -- was the result of a neighbor or passerby taking advantage of the remote connection that was enabled on my mom's Bluetooth Suite installation? Any other insight that someone may have into what caused these issues would be appreciated. I uninstalled the Bluetooth Suite for my mom since she does not use it or have any devices associated with it, and everything now seems to be running fine. Continue reading... Quote
