Headphone sound levels won't change or mute. SOLVED

Basically as the title says my headphone levels won't change from there current volume, 15, which is annoying. Iv run updates, restarts and searched for solutions which resulted in saying restarts or updates. Anyone know of a way to fix this? another note is that i can't even mute my headphone sound or alter the left and right balance, all of these problems are new and are not the headphones, i have tried 4 different headphones and the same things keep happening.

P.S: Solved the problem re-installed the headphone sound drives and had to re set the device defaults. Not sure if its a permanent fix but its working now.
