I currently have the Windows RT, and it has been working remarkably well for me! But, I am having trouble updatingit to Windows 8.1. I can go to the store and click Install, but then it won't update, and I am not sure why. Please help...

Have you checked for updates from the desktop first? There may be updates that need to be applied first on the desktop before the 8.1 store update will work for you.
