Why don't Microsoft update Virus definitions for MSE / Windows essentials ?

Now a days too many threats are around us on the internet. All antiviruses are updating to their latest malware definitions to detect malware more accurately. But on the other hand, Antivirus of Microsoft is still in its lowest score, position to detect. All antivirus products have better results than Microsoft's. Why is this so ? Is this so because they all are free, no that's not a reason. Many apps in the market are still free and having good results.

 

Is there anyone who can give me a proper answer ??
