the button that takes me to the home screen is gone?

I restarted my laptop with factory reset last night (I often do this with my devices, don't know why, I just like starting them over from scratch) but though I haven't had a problem with this before, when I got to the desktop, the button that takes me back to the home screen on the taskbar (picture included) is missing? And I have no idea how to get it back. Please help!

 

 

 

 

This picture. I don't have that button anymore. I rely on that button a lot. I don't know why it's disappeared this time when I've reset my laptop a few times in the past....
