Windows 7 Sony Vaio E-Series not allowing me to play games in fullscreen

So I have been having this problem where when I launch a game like Garry's Mod or Space Engineers or Team Fortress 2 on Steam (not sure about launching them without Steam, and I do not have many games without it) I get a black screen on my main monitor (My laptop monitor, and my second screen when I set that to main monitor and attempted to launch the game) with no mouse or anything. The second monitor is on and works fine but on my laptop monitor it is pitch black. If I tab out (Which does not fix the constant black screen) I can actually move my mouse over to the second monitor and do things on it. There are only two ways I have been able to fix this. One, I use ctrl alt delete, use my arrow keys to go down to log off (I cannot see anything because it opens on my first monitor and this does not fix the black screen) then log back on and the game will have closed and everything is fine again. If I used Task Manager to close the game it does not solve the black screen so I do not think it is the game's fault. I can also hear music in the background if there is music to the game (like Space Engineers). This has never happened to me before and I played games fullscreen all the time before but now this is a real issue because some games (again, like Space Engineers) I cannot make go windowed with the -windowed command for launch options in Steam. I really need help because nothing I've seen on any other posts are working. Here are my specs. Also, yes, the video card driver IS up to date and I also manually updated it.
