Guest Rava Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 This thread is about what add-ons you use, and the pro and cons of some add-ons. Mine currently are: Adblock Edge British English Dictionary [my native tongue dictionary is to be found at Dictionaries, not Addons, as it should. Dunno why in Firefox and in Pale Moon the en-UK dict. is listed as add-on...] Flash Video Downloader Ghostery Google Privacy Lastpass NoScript Suspend Tab Adblock Edge, Lastpass and NoScript are the minimal ones I need to install on every Palemoon (or Firefox, if I am not able to change the browser on that system) Adblock not only blocks the annoying, moving, flickering ads, it not even loads the ads, which makes loading of webpages even faster! NoScript blocks most JS and other scripts, also detects cross site scripting, a very nasty way of attacking your system via known websites... Also, ghostery, for blocking cookies and tracking sites. Suspend Tab is now what it is, I used to have "Suspend Background Tab" in FFx, but it's no longer maintained by the author, and no longer to be found at FFx addon page. When you search for "Suspend Tab" for some reason Pale Moon won't list it in results. When you search it on the Mozilla addons page for FFx, it is listed as the first result. :? maja_ldm wrote in http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/new...tml#post953237 Quote: @Rava, I can enable "Suspend background tabs", but the memory footprint doesn't change a lot.. :? It's not about memory usage, but CPU usage. :) Some background tabs are heavy on CPU (like a JS that runs a chat, or some online or streaming video portal or such) Continue reading... Quote
