Guest summernatsu Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 I was resetting my windows 8 PC when there was a city wide powercut. Now when my PC boots it is stuck in an automatic repair loop- it tries to repair itself, restarts, and goes back to trying to fix itself (thats just the start) So I changed my bios settings to boot from my recovery drive to try resetting again, but I cannot reformat my drive - when I try to reformat, nothing happens. I delete the partition, nothing happens. Then I tried to boot into safe mode using command prompt from the recovery drive but I get the reply "the boot configuration data store could not be opened the requested system device cannot be found" So I can't boot normally because of the automatic or into safe mode, can't reset or refresh my PC, or reinstall windows... By the way, I was resetting my PC as a last ditch resort to resolve errors with BSOD's, and I kept getting SMART errors and short DST failed, and my computer was performing awfully so I was suspecting hard drive failing.
