Guest qsqs Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 My computer was working fine until my itchy fingers decided to run CCleaner. After that i rebooted my comp, and it was unable to start. After running startup repair, the problem was corrupt registry. I found this solution on a web: Overwrite Software file through the following command line Type COPY /Y SOFTWARE .. and press Enter key (include the two dots) Overwrite System file through the following command line Type COPY /Y SYSTEM .. and press Enter key (include the two dots) Overwrite Sam file through the following command line Type COPY /Y SAM .. and press Enter key (include the two dots) Type Exit and press Enter to restart your computer in Normal mode If the system does not start normally, restore the original registry files from the copy created earlier However, when I type the command "COPY /Y SOFTWARE .." i got the message " The system cannot find the file specified". I have done all the previous steps required. Please help as I do not wish to lose the all the files I have. Continue reading... Quote
