You are probably right there.

I say "probably" only because I personally haven't heard from the vast

majority on this question.

What you and Jupiter Jones want is no longer possible, this newsgroup

has lost any shred of functionality or usefulness it ever had due to

the trolls (and those who respond to them.)

Even using a newsreader with scoring capabilities it's difficult to

read through the crap and I pity the poor fool who comes here thinking

he/she will get an answer to a question before the trolls jump in.

I found this in another news group and it's worthy of posting here:

"I've had enough, (name of troll). Your pride is in knowing your antics

here have turned away another reader. Group deleted from my Agent

list."

See what's happening? I have to direct any questions I get about Vista

to one of the GRC groups even though there aren't nearly as many

knowledgeable people there as there are here but the groups ARE

moderated and the trolls here wouldn't last past one post there.

Microsoft really needs to delete this entire group or moderate it.

I'll agree the MVPs shouldn't do it but someone must and IMHO it needs

doing NOW!

A lot of MVPs that post here don't know their place or have a clue

what a MVP is expected to do. A good MVP simply answers questions, he

doesn't share his political opinions or try to blow some whistle or in

general constantly act like a jerk. Supposedly they were picked to be

MVPs in the first place because they may know a little something and

demonstrated they can keep their cool. You see the same thing happen

to posters that happens to a lot of cops. Give a poster the label MVP

or a cop a tin badge and they think they can walk on water and have a

right to bad mouth citizens.

Clowns like Jupiter love to hold court, pontificate, whine, bitch,

moan and pretend they're in charge and scold everybody else and get a

kick out of talking down to others or saying they're posting in the

wrong group and engage in other rude behavior. Jupiter isn't the only

ill tempered MVP here, but recently he is the most vocal.

Microsoft had planned to kill the MVP program years ago. They didn't,

because a lot of people begged please don't and now it is next to

useless and hurts Microsoft's image more than it helps.

As I've said many times before there are still some knowledgeable and

helpful MVPs around. Most don't come near this goofy general purpose

newsgroup with a ten foot pole because characters like Jupiter have

poisoned the water.

"Of course not, they described..."

No, you and others use politics in an attempt to take a thread into

politics.

If politics is what you want, post to an appropriate newsgroup, this

is not the place.

"Did I deliberately ignored your request"

Actually you can best answer that.

The fact is you did NOT respond to the request.

Any change at all may require the user to learn if new/changed

features are to be used.

You seem fixated on picking on small portions and ignoring the

context.

Your picking on the word "properly" is another example.

"is just stupid, for anyone that's already familiar"

Perhaps for you, unlike you I prefer not to suggest others are

"stupid".

You name some of the basics but conveniently ignore other changes.

Learning some changes will take less than a few seconds for some,

others will take significantly longer.

Also different people will learn different things at different rates.

Or perhaps you do not care if anyone learns how to properly use a

tool.

Of all the lying bs artist I've ever hear, you georgie-boy take the

cake. Make a fukkin fool out of yourself on a daily basis about subjects

that you know absolutely nothing at all about. Then you have the sheer

stupidity to call others "clowns" while you alone hold the grand prize

for being the biggest clown of all.

You never cease to amaze me by just how often you sound like the idiot

you are and act the fool you certainly must be.

Frank

This is a Vista general newsgroup so it should catch what is missed by

the other more specific Vista newsgroups.

Many questions asked here would be better asked in a more specific

newsgroup.

At times I suggest that and usually the stalker comes along and

suggests I am trying to control.

The stalker probably can not stand anything that may move people to a

better resource since he will no longer be heard by him here.

But the the stalker is known for attacking while providing nothing of

value to the OPs question.

"I pity the poor fool who comes here thinking..."

Another very good reason to refer them to a more appropriate

newsgroup.

There are a lot of newsgroups for Windows Vista and most other

Microsoft products:

http://aumha.org/nntp.htm

Of course for other products there are a wide variety of forums and

newsgroups.

I loved Windows since it was launched by typing WIN at the DOS prompt.

Windows Vista makes me want to scream, pull my hair out, and try Linux.

You're just a control freak. Nobody put you in charge. How many times

you need to be reminded before it sinks in?

I'm having trouble deciding which you are most like. Actually you

This group is useful as a reference point for people who are considering

the purchase of a Vista computer, and as a sanity check for people who

have already done so. Any expectations beyond that are out of touch with

reality. Vista is a mess, with numerous well-known problems that have

yet to be solved by anyone.

Why can't you direct your questions about Vista to Microsoft? If you're

using it anyplace outside of Asia, chances are you paid through the nose

for it, and you shouldn't have to rely on Usenet for tech support.

You mean MVPs that desire to control the newsgroup postings?

My experience is that most MVPs think the ability to delete posts is a

bad idea.

I would not be surprised if 99% of the over 3,000 MVPs agree with

that.

Feel free to nominate someone.

New MVPs are added regularly.

No, I didn't mean delete posts. Merely warning, and banning if necessary,

the posters of these worthless posts would suffice.

What I said about deleting posts applies to banning posters as well.
