Windows Update program not loading/icon missing (Windows 7)

Hi,

 

 

For a while now I have had no windows update functionality. The program is shown in the start menu but the icon picture is blank. When I click on it, nothing loads. However, the program does seem to function as I do often have updates being installed on shutdown.

 

 

Any help welcome.
