Guest Mary Bern Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Does anyone know how to install a crummy webcam using window xp? I have a new monitor without a webcam installed. I go to the "free" webcam download website. It states click on download and follow the instructions such as click on run or allow, then click on run again, but all it does is download the software and ask if I want an icon on my desktop. I click on yes. When I click on the icon, all it does is open and ask me if I want to install the software I just installed. There is not window with run or allow so I just go in circles trying to find it. It might say something like double click on the gray panel, but nothing happens. There's a box where whatever you're taking a picture of normally would be, but the box is all black. Then there might be a button that says "take a picture," but it just flashed or the button disappears for a few seconds but it doesn't take any pictures. I'm talking about two different websites. I tried a few. These websites don't work like others I have used. All I had to do was log on and make a video or take a photo. My face or whatever I was taking a picture of appeared in the box, and all I had to do was click the button that said take a picture. They say it's free but then after I go to some of the websites, it says it's a free trial or I can buy it. I don't even know what the name of the camera is. I bought it on ebay. I asked him what it is because he sent it with not instructions whatsoever. He just says go to the free download. Then there is a page that says you can check if your webcam is compatible with the software, but they list a a hundred types of webcams, and I get dizzy trying to find it. My crummy webcam just says JNS with some kanji. Can anyone help? Thanks, Granny Continue reading... Quote
