Guest Joseph Keller Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Apple is reportedly planning to launch multiple sizes of the iWatch, with several sensors to track health and fitness. Following yesterday's report, of a possible curved OLED screen and wireless charging for the device, reports today suggest the iWatch will have more than ten sensors for tracing health, fitness, and more. The Wall Street Journal: Apple is planning multiple versions of a smartwatch—dubbed the iWatch in the media—later this year, according to people familiar with the matter. The devices will include more than 10 sensors to track and monitor health and fitness data, these people said. Taiwanese manufacturer Quanta Computer Inc. 2382.TW -0.60% is expected to start producing the devices in two to three months, they said. The iWatch will also reportedly coming multiple screen sizes. It can be presumed that one size would be aimed at men and one at women, just like traditional watches. The issue with this particular point is that just because you have a smaller wrist doesn't mean you need a smaller screen. The report also says that one of the device's component suppliers estimates shipments to total between 10 million to 15 million units by the end of the year, following a launch in October. This lines up with a previous report that a supplier was expecting shipments of 3-5 million units per month. An October launch seems likely, and that's around the time we expect to see the iPhone 6. What do you think of these new details? Do you think the iWatch will come in multiple screen sizes? Let us know below in the comments. Source: The Wall Street Journal Continue reading... Quote
