Guest BJTrivedi Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 I am using an Acer Model AO722 netbook with 2.0 GB RAM 9 (1.73 GB usable) and Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) OS. The system is current with all Windows updates. Over the last 2-3 weeks the system performance has degraded dramatically. Here are the symptoms: Very slow responses to mouse driven button clicks, from seconds to minutes. For longer delays the system just freezes, does not accept any mouse or key-board inputs. Eventually it achieves the desired action, but this is very annoying and frustrating. The problem seems worse when multiple browser based applications are open (we use Chrome and Firefox). I have taken the following corrective steps: Uninstalled any non-used non-essential programs. Ran the autoruns utility to turn off any non-essential processes from starting up. Ran the most up to date MSE full scan - no threats found. (June 17) Ran the most up to date Malwarebytes Threat scan - no threats found. (June 20) None of these actions have helped. I need guidance to figure out the root cause and remedy. Thank you. -BJ Trivedi Continue reading... Quote
