I uninstalled it three time because it came with a download even after I marked the box to refuse these product. After I learned to refuse, it began to refresh itself in a flash and remark for download. Then after I uninstalled it the third time I had the proxy server issue. I believe the software writers for conduit are instructed to punish those who learn to get rid of search protect. So the last time I got rid of it I kept getting and annoying pop up. I used my search and looked for anything that had the word proxy and conduit in it. I deleted these files and my proxy settings have remained as I set them. I am trying a test right now, but just started it today. In the security section of internet options I have listed *search.conduit.com and *conduit.com as restricted sites. Now I will try to download something at a site to see if I stopped conduit. These conduit people should be treated just as though they are graffiti mongers or people who key another's car paint in spite. There actions are costing a lot of people a lot of time.
