Guest hazel Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Apparently the latest kernel, 3.14, has a security fix that clashes with wine. The problem is only supposed to occur with old 16-bit DOS/windows apps, but apparently there are quite a few folk around that still use those. And configuring wine for win9x is said to fail even if you only intend to use native 32-bit apps. The problem could spread if the fix is backported into older kernels. You can read about it here.
