Posted June 20, 201410 yr Hello :D First, my microphone is NOT "disabled." I've been to the Sound settings and Device Manager, everything is just fine, no pesky exclamations, nada! AND the microphone IS "enabled." It's also plugged into a working plug. :) The com ports are working, too. No IRQ issues to report. The other evening my husband and I were talking about how hackers can turn on microphones and video cameras. My exceptional husband showed me another way (besides the standard enable/disable) to turn off the microphone so that it -can't- be turned on by a hacker. It was something in the Windows software settings and pretty much took the mic out of my hardware loop. *sighs* My adorable husband is now out of town, incommunicado... and I have homework due.
