Guest XDLugia Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Hi. Because of the rules at my school, Our computers had to be reset completely before we could take them home as Our own property. The thing is that beforehand, I made a system image (backup) on an external hard drive so that I could recover my PC and make it the way it was. Anyway, the thing is that now when I try to recover from an image, the PC fails to see my hard drive. I did Select the option for "restore by system image" in the Control panel and rebooted from there. Next I Select "Select a system image" and press Next. The list comes up With nothing, so I try to refresh it and nothing happens. It tells me to install correct drivers and the system32 folder pops up. I navigate through to Computer where it shows the local memory units, however my HDD isn't anywere to be seen, which seems likely when it didn't recognize my HDD earlier. I don't see why I would need drivers for the hard drive when it Works perfectly when I use it after a regular boot, so why isn't it accessible during a recovery boot? If it matters, my PC is an HP ProBook 4330s (no CD-Rom) and the HDD is a Seagate Expansion Portable Drive 500 GB USB 3.0. PS: I Write this from the top of my head since I obviously can't use my PC for writing here while I'm trying to recover, so there might be details I've left out. Continue reading... Quote
