Guest KB_895 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 When attempting to perform Windows Backup, I receive this error message. " The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error". This occurs if I attempt a System Image or a full backup. Windows has never successfully completed a backup. I'm running Windows 7, 64 bit backing up to an external HD. I have successfully performed a backup using third party software, so I'm confident the external HD is functioning properly. Continue reading... Quote
