My Computer won't read anything I plug into the right side of it.

So I've been having problems with the right side of my computer. It has two USB ports and the CD/DVD drive. At first when I plugged USBs in and it didn't work, I thought maybe the port is messed up. Then I put a CD into my computer and the green light flashed and it made that noise it makes when I put a CD in but the AutoPlay thing didn't pop up. So I went to device manager and there is no section that says CD/DVD. I troubleshooted my computer but it still doesn't work. It's getting really frustrating!
