Will backdoor.trojan be removed if we perform a factory restore?

So i have a virus aka maliware and its called backdoor.trojan im not taking any chances so would it work if i erase all my system files to factory default and change my security to something better because i had a relative maliware i couldent remember it it was trojan. Something and another thing i am a gamer and i was thinking could the spyware take my accounts like desura,steam,or even my microsoft? Another thing since the maliware started ive only been online for 30-35 mins could the hacker take my info by then? it didnt show any signs of missing files besides Amnesia:the dark descent one last question what security can i use from preventing things like this again not free antispyware but something like firewall?
