New computer win8 keeps asking me to "VERIFY" my microsoft .net or something

I assume it is the hotmail account; I don't know what else. I have never had any other kind of Microsoft anything.

 

I cannot do as the process asks because the only email address it will accept to send verification code to is also a Hotmail account then when I try to access it the same thing happens. It wants me to verify that one too. When I used the "text to my phone" method the code does not work. this is a brand new computer there is no one else ever using it. Always at home. This is soooooo stupid that I cannot use my own brand new computer because of a HOTMAIL or .Net complication. Is the only reason we ever buy Windows computers to untangle Microsoft issues. I haven't been able to do much else with this screwed up machine.

 

So, the question is I suppose how can I get this problem out of the way so I can use my computer instead of being berated with "prove your computer" garbage?
