Guest MorrieParsons Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 G'day, BACKGROUND: Due to my computer having a virus (beyond my ability to dig out) a couple of days back I reinstalled my Windows 7 OS. Subsequently i've reinstalled my MS Office Pro 2013 and other neccesary programs. I've also purchased and installed AVG Pro 2014 and due to being gun shy about virus reinfection have set the security settings as high as i can. PROBLEM: 2 - 3 times a day the AVG Online Shield gives me the following level 3 virus alert blocking what appears to be a Microsoft product: Virus found Win32/Heur, officecdn.microsoft.com/pr/39168D7E-077B-48E7-872C-B232C3E72675/Office/Data/15.0.4623.1003/stream.x86.x-none.dat;"Secured";"14/06/2014, 11:31:42 a.m.";"URL" AVG then adds that there is an "embedded element in the archive/ email attachment / cookie etc" saying that the infected element of the blocked element is as shown below in bold: Virus found Win32/Heur, officecdn.microsoft.com/pr/39168D7E-077B-48E7-872C-B232C3E72675/Office/Data/15.0.4623.1003/stream.x86.x-none.dat;"Secured";"14/06/2014, 11:31:42 a.m.";"URL":\mircosoft.lync.utilities.dll The Online Shield blocks another instance every second until I disconnect from the internet, out of morbid interest i let it run for 20 min in the background yesterday before cutting the connection to the internet. If I stay disconnected from the internet for half an hour or so the alerts stop, but kick off again later in the day. I've sent a query to AVG regarding this as well, however my question is whether or not this is a legitimate MS Office communication with my computer? If so are there any recommendations for resolving the matter? Thanks in advance Regards Morrie <Mod> Moved from Office programming/ Continue reading... Quote
