Recently I received an update notice to download for Windows. There were 2 downloads. As the download (initialized) I read the names of what was being downloaded (which I rarely do because they're usually numbers). Anyway, the first download was "Security Update for Microsoft Office 7 (KB2878233)" and the second was "Window Malicious Software Removal Tool - June 2014 (KB 890830)." What make these two downloads so suspicious is 1) I don't have Microsoft Office 7 loaded on my computer--I have an old copy of XP Professional and 2) Why would I be getting a download from Windows when they stop supporting XP in April 2014. I called MS and spoke with some tech in their corporate office who could not explain it either. So, the person suggested that I join the community for an answer. The only other issue that may be in play is a hacker. My computer shows some of the classic signs of being hacked and past experience with computer, internet, phone and cable issues strongly suggest that a hacker is living on my computer. Unfortunately, I live in a multi-unit apartment complex, so it could be anyone. I only used this computer to check out the news since MS stop supporting XP. Neither of these updates make sense to download on this computer at this time, unfortunately I couldn't stop the download. Any explanations out there as to whats going on with this?
