upgrading from windows XP to windows 7 on an Old system

My system currently running on XP professional which is extremely slow to operate.

 

 

My CPU is a 32-bit, 2.8Ghz pentium 4 with 80GB HDD and 2GB RAM. I have only 19GB of space for OS.

 

 

I would like to upgrade to Windows 7 .

 

 

Please let me know the drawbacks if there are any to upgrade to win 7.

 

 

Can my system keep up with win 7. I read win 7 will take 16GB of space after installing,
