After I downloaded an antivirus software, my IE icon gone, but the rest of the computer and files are OK. Also, the mobile internet dongle cannot work.

I tried the dongle first, and found that it is still OK, because it worked on other computer. Then I deleted the files of the dongle on my computer and reload it back, it worked again.

However I tried to download IE again from the internet and it showed the former IE edition was there and preventing the new IE from downloading. I tried to delete the IE and download again but it does not work. Later on I understand that IE is a Window features that you cannot delete but only can diable. I believe the antivirus software had altered or prohibited some IE features from running, because Chrome was running perfectly OK.

Before this incident happen, the antivirus software was indicating that "the IE had been kidnapping the website and redirect it to another site and it is a malicious item that needs to clean". After I pressed OK, the IE icon had gone.

Now my idea is to totally remove the version of IE residing in my computer and download a fresh new one from the website, but it cannot be done. Can someone teach me how to do it?
