Guest LoriCrothers Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Hi all, I am having a problem with my dvd drive. It will not auto run. A lot of the time when I go into windows explorer it does not even show I have a dvd in. When it finally does show a dvd in, I have to manually open it in my cyberlink powerdvd 10. Then after a bit, it locks up and has to close. Also if I try to do a scene selection it locks up. Rarely will it play a movie all the way through without issues. I ran a hardware diagnostic and it always says the hardware is working properly. It does the same in windows medial player so it is not the cyberlink software. Has to be the hardware or a problem in the registry or software. I also tried the "Fix It" here on the Microsoft website but it did not fix the issue. Any Ideas? It never gives me an error code???? I am running Windows 8. I bought this laptop last year and it came with windows 8, the HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GT80N dvd drive and the cyberlink powerdvd 10. Thank you for any help!!! Continue reading...
