Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 upgrade question.

Hi.

 

 

I was only informed today that if I don't upgrade to windows 8.1 by the end of June 13th, I'll no longer receive updates.

 

However I don't really trust the sources I was given, so I thought I'll ask the community and microsoft directly through this thread.

 

 

On this news page http://www.deccanchronicle.com/140605/technology-latest/article/upgrade-windows-81-one-week-deadline.

 

It states that if I don't upgrade to windows 8.1, I'll no longer receive updates, but when I look at other news pages with the "Windows 8.1 deadline", it only mentions Windows 8.1, Windows 8.1 RT, and Windows Server R2(?) Devices, this has confused me.

 

 

So my question is this.

 

Will I receive updates and security updates after June 13th if I choose not to upgrade to Windows 8.1?
