So i took my old laptop drive out and i plugged it in my PC's SATA cable. Then i booted into it and it gave me a BSOD that immediately flashed then the pc restarted. I pressed disable auto restart on system failure and then it it said (stop: 0x00000007, 0xFFFFFFF something). I have reason to believe the hard drive has a boot sector virus because when it was in the laptop, One day i started it up and the screen stayed black so i thought maybe a virus overwrite the BIOS.

Startup repair said- 'startup repair cannot fix this problem'. I can access the cmd which is extremely hard to do and i forgot how. Should i run chkdsk C:/.

I dont have the installation disc with me. The hard disk has been running on 2 different motherboards (the laptop and my MSI board).

Additional info - My pc has windows xp and on the hard disk its running windows 7
