Microsoft LifeCam Studio driver problem

I have been through all the relevant posts regarding issues similar to this but I have not found a permanent solution.

I have a Microsoft LifeCam Studio Camera. I have written a program using Microsoft Media Foundation that captures 1920x1080 video. Initially I was NOT able to capture 1080p video. What I had to do to fix this problem is Download LifeCam 4.2 and install it. Once it was installed, I had to UNINSTALL it. I was then able to capture 1080p video.

What is the problem then? The problem is that, the situation comes back again and I have to do the install and uninstall of the LifeCam software. My question is how do I solve this PERMANENTLY?

Some more notes:

When the LifeCam is NOT working as it is supposed to, in my device manager, I have the following names and properties:

Microsoft LifeCam Studio

Driver Date: 9/17/2013

Driver Version: 4.25.529.0

When the LifeCam IS WORKING as it is supposed to, in my device manager, I have the following names and properties:

Microsoft® LifeCam Studio

Driver Date: 2006-06-21

Driver Version: 6.2.9200.16664

I would really appreciate it if anyone can give me a solid answer as to why it keeps reverting back to a non-working state.
