Questions about Windows 8.1 upgrade

Hello,

 

I have few queries about windows 8.0 to windows 8.1 update.

 

1. Do I need to keep the back ups of the data stored in hard drive?

 

2. My internet connection is very slow (20 to 40kbps), what time will it take to complete the process ?

 

3. Shall I get, all the installed apps, tools, games etc( in windows 8.0), in the updated 8.1, or have to download and install all again?

 

4. What will happen if internet connection get stop (say for an hour), in the middle of the process?

 

Answer of these queries are highly appreciable.
