Installing Older Version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2005

I am getting SideBySide errors in the event Log when running an older version of Office. Here is one of the errors:

Resolve Partial Assembly failed for Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC. Reference error message: The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.

I have researched the errors and i believe the solution is to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005. I am concerned that i already have 2008 and 2010 installed on my system and installing the older version may conflict with these versions.

Is it safe to install the older version?

I would appreciate any help. Thank you.
