Guest Simon Sage Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 App Annie runs a fantastic iOS, Android, and Windows Phone app analytics system, and they've just acquired another major company in that sphere, Distimo. The acquisition puts App Annie at over 240 employees, and comes hot on the heels of a recent $17 million round of investment from IDG and other partners. The specific terms of the deal were undisclosed. Distimo's Netherlands office will join other international HQs in Amsterdam, Beijing, Hong Kong, London, Moscow, New York, Seoul, Shanghai, and Tokyo. Both of these companies regularly churn out insightful monthly reports on trends in the mobile software ecosystem, not to mention great databases of historical app data which we use regularly in our coverage of apps. Developers have a vested interest in strong ecosystem data for figuring out their next steps and what their competition is up to. Be sure to swing by App Annie to check out their App Store charts. Developers, how do you track your analytics? Have you ever used Distimo or App Annie? Source: AppAnnie Continue reading... Quote
