Microsoft Security Essentials can't remove detected items

I downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials onto my dad's infected Windows 7 computer. A full scan was able to detect 5 items. I clicked on the Clean PC button and it attempted to remove the items but the bar indicating the process never reaches completion (it stops at around 75%). These are the items that Microsoft Security Essentials detected:

 

 

Trojan:Win32/Macultum.gen!A

 

Exploit:JS/Blacole.MX

 

Adware:Win32/Adpeak

 

ExploitJava/CVE-2012-1723

 

Exploit:Java/CVE-2013-0431

 

 

I've left it to clean the PC for a whole day and the bar never moved any further. Anyone have any solutions?
