I am running XP Home Edition SP3 on my spare computer. It is a Gateway 510 series with 512 meg of ram, and 75G hard drive. RAM boards are 256 X 2. I ordered 2 X 1G boards to upgrade memory, they are DDR, 184 pin, PC2700 , 333hz, DIMM. The computer's slot layout is 4 memory slots in a row. Slots two and four have the 256 meg boards. one and three are spare. Is there any particular sequence I should have these boards arrainged for best performance, or just put the new boards in the two spare slots and leave it at that? My understanding slots one and two are together and three and four are together also, to balance it out.
