Touchpad works in Chrome OS (Which is Linux), but doesn't in Ubuntu 14

So then..... I'm having this problem on an Acer C720 Chromebook.... I did everything conceiveable to rememdy the problem, but to no avail (which seems to be a recurring theme in Ubuntu)..... For the most part Ubuntu works great... But, after going through the nosebleed of installing Wine, the Touchpad fails to work, after doing a "Ubuntu Base" update, yesterday/early this morning, which required a restart.... I would have asked this at LinuxQuestions, but they said my account was deleted, because of Ymail sending them spam, and that they don't accept Ymail for account registration..... (Yet, I was able to register)..... For future reference..... apt-get update won't work, and using aptitude will not work as well, since the Terminal will not recognize it....... I say this because people are told to do that..... :( I can input any commands I need to, and am (of course) the owner of the Chromebook... Any suggestions.....? This appears to be an un-asked question, soooo..... Yeah... :( I figured I would ask it..... Oh yeah, my USB mouse DOES work, so..... And, after I installed dconf, it said that my Touchpad is detected, on, and working............ Why does Ubuntu have to be so hard to use....? D:
